KALISPELL — Patricia “Pat” K. Sauerbier passed away at home in Kalispell, Mont., on Jan. 11, 2014.
Pat was born on Aug. 24, 1950, in Belle Fourche, S.D., to Joe and Annabel Gordon. After Joe’s death in 1964, Annabel married Ernest O’Brien and then the family moved to Whitefish, Mont., in 1966. Pat graduated from Flathead High School in 1968 and married in 1970. In 1972, daughter Jodi was born and shortly after the new family moved to Bigfork, Mont., where they lived for nearly 20 years.
Pat’s Beauty School degree was put to good use over the years styling hair for family and friends. She also displayed her sewing talents – not only on the family’s clothing but also for her sister’s entire wedding party. Through both outside work and the family farm Pat utilized her bookkeeping skills as well as a gift for sign painting. Other well recognized talents included macramé, baking, and gardening. She also enjoyed reading, playing cards, and watching television shows. After her divorce, Pat moved to Kalispell where she lived with her beloved kitty Peaches.
Pat is survived by her daughter Jodi Sauerbier of Seattle, Wash.; stepfather Ernest O’Brien of Buffalo, Wyo.; sister and brother-in-law Barb and Oly Bircher of Whitefish, Mont.; sister and brother-in-law Robin and Chuck Richards of Belle Fourche, S. D.; brother and sister-in-law Joe and Darlene Gordon of Florence, Mont.; and six nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Joe and Annabel.
