Beloved husband, father, and grandfather Ray Leland, 81, of Billings, passed away July 31, 2014, after a lengthy illness. Ray was born in Joliet on March 7, 1933, to Ole and Ragna Leland. He attended school in Joliet and graduated from Montana State with a degree in architecture, successfully practicing architecture in the Billings area for over 40 years.

Ray and wife, Irene, enjoyed 59 years of marriage and raised three children. As Irene's health declined over the past several years, Ray was a devoted care giver until her death four weeks ago.

Ray was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers Thelmar and Ted; and sister Gladys.

He is survived by his sister Violet; daughter Rena Leland Koinis (Mike) of Bellaire, Texas; sons Eric Leland of Bremerton, Wash., and Hal Leland of Patterson, Calif.; and grandchildren: Spencer and Dexter Leland and Kara and Kevin Koinis.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rocky Mountain Hospice for their kind and compassionate care. A private memorial service will be scheduled in the future.

Arrangements are by Cremation & Funeral Gallery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.cfgbillings.com through “Our Families.”
