Rev. Robert Franklin Lucas went home to be with Jesus, Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013. Bob, a WWII Vet served from 1942 - 1945. At the age of 12 Bob told God, "If you are real, make yourself real to me." God made Himself very real in Bob's life and called him into full-time ministry.

Bob and Ona pastored in Las Cruces, N.M., Billings, Mont., Yakima, Wash., and Jerome, Idaho. Bob also filled the pulpits for pastor friends in the Billings/Laurel area after his “retirement" in 1990. For the last five weeks of his life, he ministered as a resident at Beartooth Healthcare Community, in Columbus, Mont.

He loved to pray with and for others, and give devotions when asked. He was scheduled to give devotions on the day he passed, titled, "The End." Included in that message were these words, "In Christ, the end is only the beginning.”

Bob is preceded in death by his wife, Ona, (Oct. 16, 2012). He is survived by five daughter's: Linda Williamson (Milt), Carolyn Everard (Jim) of Billings, Candy Onoszko (Ed) of Laurel, Dena Gunn (Brad Fredrickson) of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kelly Montague of Foley, Ala.; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-granddaughters; and one nephew, Earl Lucas of Jacksonville, Fla.

Memorial services will be held at Parkhill Assembly of God 1707 Parkhill Dr. Thursday, March 27, at 1:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donation can be made in his honor to: New Mexico Church of God Youth Camp, c/o Cheryl Gillis, P.O. Box 205, Hatch, NM 87937.
