Roy L. Leuenberger passed away at home on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017. He was born Aug. 27, 1952, in Wolf Point, to Marcella (Weerts) and Melvin Leuenberger. The family moved to Billings when he was young and he graduated from Billings Senior High. He enlisted in the USMC after graduation. Roy was fondly called Roy Beans by his family and the nickname stuck until the time of his death.

Roy married Vicki Daum on Nov. 18, 1977, in Billings. They eventually moved to Bellingham, Washington, and raised their two sons, Josh and Bowen. Roy was always involved with his sons’ activities and was their biggest fan in all they did. Roy and Vicki moved back home to Billings in 2004. Roy retired from Shepherd School District in 2014. He then worked part-time at Cabelas, his dream job, where he was surrounded by all the things he loved: hunting, fishing and camping. Roy lived a colorful and fun life, enjoying a wide circle of family and friends. As no one can explain, his best friend, Vance, passed away the same day as Roy. Those that knew the two of them together can only imagine the mischief they are into now.

Roy is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Vicki, sons Josh (Danielle), granddaughters Hailee and Madison; Bowen (Sharee) and grandchildren Kaius, Eislyn, and Kovin. He is also survived by brothers, Dale, Lyle, Ed and sister Wanda, daughter Shana, sister-in-law Michelle Daum Haskins and husband, and numerous other family members.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to P.E.A.K.S #2 or VFW Post #6774 Condolences may be sent to www.heightsfamilyfuneralhome.com through “Our Families.”
