On a beautiful spring morning, as her sister held her hand, Sherri quietly took her last breath.
She was born Feb. 17, 1953, in Livingston to John and Phyliss Jones. She was the first grandchild. She was followed by four siblings and 48 cousins. The ones that followed could only dream of trying to keep up. When we needed "Life Lessons" she was the one we turned to. For instance, when we needed to know what French Kissing was, we knew who to go to!
Her nephew, Jeremy Payer, always had a special bond with her. He too was a first grandchild. They had so many things in common. When he was little and wanted a toy that his Mom couldn't afford he said, “That’s okay. Aunt Sha Sha will get it for me.” Until the day she died she was always there for him.
The best trips were with her daughter, Stephanie; nephew, Jeremy; sister, Nicki; and brother, Tim.
Once you were a friend, it was forever. She leaves behind too many friends to mention.
Her best friend was Stephanie Hoselton. Sherri named her daughter after her.
Some of her favorite memories were from her job as a paralegal for Jeff Simkovic and Charles Murray.
She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Tommy) of Raleigh,N.C; special stepdaughter, Pamela Eldridge (John) of Helena; stepson, Scott Fels of Missoula; sister, Nicki; and brothers, John (Shelly), Kevin (Elizabeth), Timothy (Natasha); 46 of her cousins survive her; nine nieces and nephews and two grandchildren.
A memorial of her life will be Sunday Aug. 17, in Laurel at her cousin, Debbie Flather’s home (1424 Ridge Drive). Anyone who was a friend is welcome. There will be many happy memories shared. For directions and time call 404-690-2525.
