Steven Francis Schweitzer, age 67 years, 8 months, 29 days, passed away Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family, after a four month struggle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Yankton, S.D. with Rev. Ken Lulf officiating. Burial will be approximately 4:30 p.m., Wednesday afternoon at the St. Boniface parish cemetery, Idylwilde. Visitations will be begin at 6 p.m., Tuesday evening at St. Ben’s Catholic Church, Yankton, with a rosary at 7 p.m. and a Scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Visitations will resume one hour prior to the service at the church. Steven is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mary. His children, Bill (Melanie) Schweitzer of Chanhasssan, Minn., Noleen (Curt) Skillingstad of Yankton, S.D., Tracy (Earl) Horton of Pipeston, Minn., John (Stacie) Harvey of Lawrenceburg, Ind., Tim (Carol) Harvey of Colorado Springs, Colo., David (Rattanamon) Harvey of Bangkok, Thailand, Adam Schweitzer of Yankton, S.D.; his mother, Adeline Schweitzer of Yankton S.D.; brothers, Allen Schweitzer, Michael (Suk) Schweitzer, Bruce (Sandy) Schweitzer, Randy Schweitzer, Brian (Sherry) Schweitzer, Darrold (Lori) Schweitzer, Kevin (Kara) Schweitzer; sisters, Angela (Randy) Schaeffer, Donna (William) Cap, Mary (Doug) Baumiller, Pamela Jensen, Charlene (Gerry) Hora, Vicki (Garrett) Pachl; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
