Virginia Eilertsen, 91, of Billings, passed away at her home, Tuesday, July 29, 2014. The daughter of Joseph and Karin Carlson, Virginia was born March 24, 1923, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She married the love of her life and best friend’s brother, Clifford J. Eilertsen in Brooklyn on March 1, 1947. They raised their family in Little Ferry, N.J.

After attending Business School, Virginia had worked as a secretary for Merck and for over ten years was a Vice President with Volunteer Savings and Loan in Little Ferry. She later worked at the Little Ferry Library until moving to Billings in 2003.

She loved to paint and dance and especially enjoyed bowling. She liked to play cards with her grandchildren and to travel. She was always ready for an adventure.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, on Nov. 12, 2003, and by her grandson, Dane Eilertsen, on June 10, 1980.

Survivors include her children, Karin (Chris) Calabrese of Billings, Ronald (Sharon) Eilertsen of Mount Dora, Fla., and Roy (Charlotte) Eilertsen of Little Ferry, N.J.; her brother, Joseph (Nancy) Carlson of New Mexico; grandchildren, Allysa Calabrese, Rebecca (Matt Dolan) Calabrese, Olivia Calabrese, Amy (Nick) Lindstedt, Keith (Amber) Eilertsen, Ryan Eilertsen, Brett Elitersen and Aron Eilertsen; great-granddaughter, Emma Lindstedt; numerous nieces and nephews and pet cat, Raven.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 2 in the Atrium at Faith Chapel. Private interment services will be at Yellowstone Valley Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Mountain Hospice. Michelotti-Sawyers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
