FORSYTH — Wayne Delyle Nipple was born on the family farm in Howard Valley, Forsyth, to Arthur Wayne and Ruby Kohlmyer Nipple on July 27, 1929. He died July 12, 2014 at Billings Clinic just short of his 85th birthday. Wayne attended Howard School through the eighth grade and graduated from Forsyth High School in 1947.
He obtained his B.S. degree in Agriculture from Montana State College (now MSU) in 1955 during which time he also served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. He began his career with the Department of Agriculture, Soil Conservation Services in March 1955 in Big Sandy. In 1957, he advanced to District Conservationist and in 1959 moved to Hardin, where he continued his career until retiring in 1994.
Wayne married Betty F. Tucker in 1951. Together they had four children, Shelly (Joe) Driskell, Allen of Sheridan, Wyo., Judy Maseman of Big Fork, and (Lyle) Dean of Belgrade.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; and one nephew.
He is survived by his children; grandson, Joe Jr. (Halcy); and great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn of Colorado Springs; granddaughter, Courtney; great-grandson, A.J.; brother, Roy (Mary May) Nipple; and sister, Virginia (Don) Quinlan of Forsyth; one niece and three nephews.
Cremation has taken place. No services are planned.
