In response to an increased need for labor, postpartum, neonatal and antepartum services, the Billings Clinic Family Birth Center has been expanded with six new suites as well as new state-of-the-art C-section operating rooms.
A public open house will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on May 17 with a ribbon cutting and comments at 11:30 a.m. Tours will be provided. Games and face painting will be available for children. Refreshments will be served. The Family Birth Center is located on the second floor on the east side of Billings Clinic hospital above the Pediatrics Department.
The Family Birth Center is a labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum model, allowing the mother and family to stay in a single suite throughout the entire birthing process. This model improves efficiency, comfort, and the overall patient experience by providing a home-like atmosphere.
The need for women’s and children’s services at Billings Clinic has grown since the opening of the Family Birth Center in 1999. Pregnant patients come from a large geographic region covering central and Eastern Montana, Northern Wyoming and western North Dakota to receive specialized care in maternal fetal medicine and neonatal intensive care.
