Annie is a large, red-haired, female retriever/vizsla mix available for adoption at Help for Homeless Pets. At 3 to 4 years old, she is well-mannered and knows basic commands. She loves water and is good with kids. Annie prefers to be an only pet and needs a big, fenced yard or country home. She would be a great jogging or hiking partner. She is spayed, microchipped and current on vaccinations.
Also available are other dogs, several litters of kittens in many colors and a box-trained rabbit. Through August, adult cats are available at a special price of $35, which includes vaccinations and spaying or neutering.
To adopt Annie for $75, contact Help for Homeless Pets at 2910 Hannon Road, or call 896-1700. Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. daily.
The shelter needs canned cat food, dry dog food, kitten food, bleach, laundry soap and Pine-Sol. Donations of new or used fans are especially needed because the shelter is not air-conditioned. New volunteers are always welcome and can choose to help with a variety of tasks in many areas.
