Cheshire, an extra-large 6-year-old tuxedo cat, is available for adoption at Help for Homeless Pets. This Maine coon is litter box trained and declawed. Cheshire is very lovable — quiet, but social. He is great with kids and comfortable around dogs. His vaccinations are current, and he is neutered.

Other animals are available, including a variety of all sizes of dogs, some husky shepherd puppies, a rabbit and other Maine coon cats.

To adopt Cheshire for $50, contact Help for Homeless Pets at 2910 Hannon Road, or call 896-1700. Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. daily.

The organization needs dry cat food, wet (solid pâté-style) dog food, blankets, towels, sheets, pillowcases, shredded paper, bleach, disinfecting spray and wipes, and dog and cat treats. New volunteers are always welcome and can choose from a variety of tasks in many areas. Donations may be dropped off during business hours, and pick-up may be available. Call the shelter for details.

For more information and to view a list of available animals, go to the organization’s Facebook page or helpforhomelesspets.org.
