Misty is a small, tan-and-white, spayed female Jack Russell terrier/Chihuahua mix available for adoption at Billings Animal Rescue Kare (BARK). This diverse canine companion is about 2 years old. Misty is happy sitting on laps or racing around and playing in the yard. She has enough energy to go camping and hiking, but also, a long enough attention span to enjoy being with her companion watching television or working on a computer. She is a healthy, intelligent love bug. Misty was a Big Horn County pound pup with a limited life expectancy in the pound. She is a good dog and loves playing with other dogs and children. She likes to playfully chase cats. She isn't happy about sharing her people with other critters, but will correct very quickly with a voice command. Misty is spayed and current on vaccinations. She is scheduled for a dental cleaning at Vet-To-Go.

Other available animals include Aussi shepherd mixes, a Great Dane mix, a standard poodle, a few Siamese mix and tuxedo cats, a butterfly tabby and several others.

To adopt Misty for $150, which includes the scheduled dental cleaning and extractions if needed, contact BARK at 4017 First Ave. S., or 694-1107. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, noon to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, and closed Monday.

The organization needs paper towels, replacement milk for kittens, new bottles for pets, and flat sheets. BARK is also looking for silent auction and raffle items for its annual Posh Paws Boot Scoot and Tail Wag at Oscar’s Park, scheduled for Sunday, May 25. Anyone interested in helping should call the shelter or post a message on the organization’s Facebook page.
