Satchmo is a 3-year-old neutered male cat available for adoption at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. He is mellow, playful and laid-back — not demanding attention, but loving it. Satchmo has been at YVAS since April and is an “office cat” because he is so well-behaved. The buff-colored kitty gets along with kids, dogs and other cats. His vaccinations are current.

The organization is celebrating National Adopt-A-Cat Month with June Cat Jubilee. Adopt any cat, 1 year or older for $35 through June. Vaccinations, microchipping and spaying or neutering are included.

Guinea pigs and many rabbits are also waiting for homes.

To adopt Satchmo, contact Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter at 1735 Monad Road. Hours are noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; noon to 6 p.m. Saturday-Sunday and closed Wednesday.

The shelter needs donations of plain yogurt for Kong toys, small bags of dry kitten food, litter pans and scoops, and clay litter. Yogurt donations should be taken to shelter’s office during business hours. Foster families for kittens are also needed. For more information, call 294-7387.
