Sawyer and Spice are 1-year-old male Guinea pigs available for adoption at Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter. These frisky fellows are brown and white and would enjoy a loving home.
“Library cats” are also available. They are not overly active; they love to snooze, but love their owners, too. When visiting the shelter, look for books on the kennels to see which felines qualify for a special adoption rate of $35 each.
To adopt Sawyer or Spice for $10 each, bring a cage to Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter at 1735 Monad Road or call 294-7387. Hours are noon to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday; noon to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and closed Wednesday.
A spay/neuter clinic is planned for April 26-27. Qualifying participants receive services at reduced rates of $40 per cat and $45 per dog. Call the shelter to schedule an appointment.
The organization needs donations of small cat beds, small litter pans, washable cat toys and soft dog treats, such as Pup-Peroni Dog Snacks. Also needed are foster families for kittens; if interested, call Dana at the shelter.
