The Palisades geological formation will be the topic of discussion at the Beartooth Ranger District’s Palisades Full Moon Walk on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Red Lodge Mountain parking lot.

Featured speakers for the walk will be: Dan Seifert, assistant forest geologist, Custer-Gallatin National Forests; Austin Hart, Beartooth Mountain Guides; and Marv Kauffman, Yellowstone Bighorn Research Association.

The talk will be located in the upper parking lot, but participants will be encouraged to take a walk after the presentation to get a better view of the Palisades formation.

Participants may want to bring binoculars, comfortable shoes, water and a flashlight in case the moon does not cooperate.
