On Friday the Buffalo Bill Center of the West will celebrate the third birthday of Suli, the turkey vulture, at 11 a.m. The party is free with admission.
Suli is one of the most dynamic birds in the Draper Natural History Museum's Raptor Experience and the only one of the six live birds of prey at the museum whose birthday can be determined. A Kansas couple found Suli — which is the Cherokee word for vulture — in a haystack when she was only a couple weeks old.
Activities on tap for partygoers include a scavenger’s scavenger hunt with prizes, turkey vulture-style face painting and visitor “selfie” photos with a life-size cutout of Suli.
