Photography enthusiasts have a new place to nurture their interests at the new Picture Yellowstone at Historic Haynes Photo Shop near Old Faithful geyser in Yellowstone National Park.

The facility opened at the beginning of the summer in a building that was once the shop of early park photographer F.J. Haynes. Open daily through Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the Photo Shop includes family friendly activities and exhibits that explore the history and future of art in the park.

The educational exhibits showcase Haynes’ exploration of early photography in the park and includes access to the Haynes Photo Booth where visitors can take a retro selfie against the backdrop of a Haynes photograph.

Free daily art activities include the family friendly Painting Yellowstone at 2 p.m. and the Smarter Phone Photo Tips at 4:30 p.m.

The photo shop is operated by the the nonprofit Yellowstone Park Foundation and includes instructors from the nonprofit Yellowstone Association Institute.
