Bighorn Canyon National Recreation Area is celebrating the 100th anniversary of the passage of women’s right to vote with a tour of the Caroline Lockhart Ranch on July 20.

Ranger Christy Fleming will give a tour of the ranch as well as provide details on Lockhart’s life. Participants should meet at the gate at the Lockhart Ranch at 1 p.m. to begin the tour.

Lockhart never considered herself a suffragette, however, she was an independent woman before her time. She dove into the Boston Harbor in a scuba diving suit, jumped out of a building into a firemen’s net and traveled out West by herself, all to get a good story.

For more information, call Fleming at 307-548-5406.
