Wilderness Walks kicks off with gathering

The Eastern Montana Chapter of the Montana Wilderness Association will kick off the annual Wilderness Walks season with poetry and prose on Thursday from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Good Earth Market.

Chapter president Cal Cumin will read selections from his personal collection; and David Klarich will read an essay titled, “Shooting Stars and Sharing the Moon.”

Featured guest writers include Montana author John Clayton, who will read selected essays from his recent book, "Stories from Montana's Enduring Frontier: Exploring an Untamed Legacy," which takes place in Yellowstone National Park; and Brett French, Outdoors editor for The Billings Gazette.

In addition, 2014 Wilderness Walks booklets will be available, The Base Camp will display cool, new gear and bison meatballs will be served.
