A woman was hospitalized and another woman is in custody after a Friday morning stabbing at a Billings house.

Billings police responded to the 700 block of Logan Lane at 6:47 a.m. to the reported stabbing, Lt. Neil Lawrence said in a news release.

Officers found a 24-year-old Billings woman with multiple stab wounds. The victim, who was awake and breathing, was taken to Billings Clinic by ambulance with injuries that were not life-threatening, Lawrence said.

Officers began searching the area. After about 90 minutes, they found the suspect, Marlana Marie Blackdog, 21, of Brockton, at the Heights Walmart store.

Blackdog was taken to the Yellowstone County jail on suspicion of assault with a weapon. The relationship between the two women and the motive for the attack is not yet known, Lawrence said.
