A Billings man has been charged with stabbing his roommate in their apartment Friday night.

Gabriel Taylor Parker-Carlson, 24, appeared Monday in Yellowstone County Justice Court on assault with a weapon, a felony. Justice of the Peace David Carter set bond at $30,000 and required GPS monitoring should Parker-Carlson be released.

Parker-Carlson stabbed his 25-year-old roommate inside their apartment, charges state. The man and his girlfriend were in their room trying to sleep when Parker-Carlson kicked open their bedroom door, the two told police. Parker-Carlson said he owed someone money, the man who was stabbed later told police, and that when he stood up and asked what was wrong, Parker-Carlson rushed him with the knife, stabbing him in the chest.

Both men were treated at hospitals after the incident.
