The U.S. Marshals Service arrested an alleged escapee who walked from a health clinic 10 days ago in Billings.

Law enforcement arrested James Daniel Calder on Friday at a house on Waverly Drive, according to Rod Ostermiller with the Marshals Service.

Calder was a resident at the Alpha House prerelease facility when he walked away from RiverStone Health on Oct. 3, Ostermiller said. An arrest warrant was issued a day later.

Ostermiller said authorities staked out the Waverly Drive house.

"He came out of the back door onto the porch," he said.

Calder surrendered without incident. He was sentenced a year ago for burglary in Lewis and Clark County, according to the Montana Department of Corrections. He was taken to the Yellowstone County Detention Facility.
