A woman faces a felony assault charge after hitting her boyfriend with a car, according to charges.

Emily Rose Enick, 23, appeared in justice court Monday on a felony charge of assault with a weapon. Enick told officers when she was arrested Friday that she was an employee of the Yellowstone County Detention Facility. Jail staff said Monday that Enick is not a jail employee, but they could not clarify if she had been last week.

According to charging documents, Enick had argued with her boyfriend earlier in the day. He told officers he left on a bicycle and Enick followed him. At one point the man went inside a hotel, and Enick parked and waited outside, he told officers.

Enick ran into the man on his bike after he left the hotel, charges state. The hit caused the man to fall, he said, and he was then dragged under the car for an unknown distance. He told officers he thought he would die.

Enick had four children in the car when she was pulled over by police, charges state. Enick’s boyfriend is the father of her children, she told officers. The man was treated for injuries.
