A 21-year-old woman faces a felony assault charge after prosecutors say she stabbed another woman in the Billings Heights on Friday morning.

Marlana Marie Blackdog appeared Monday in Yellowstone County Justice Court on a single count of assault with a weapon. Justice of the Peace David Carter set bond at $20,000 and required GPS monitoring should Blackdog be released.

Blackdog stabbed a 24-year-old Billings woman Friday morning, according to charges. Police were called to a home on the 700 block of Logan Lane at 6:47 a.m., according to a press release issued by the Billings Police Department.

The 24-year-old had a gash on the side of her head and a single stab wound each to her stomach and leg, charges state. She was taken to Billings Clinic for treatment.

The stabbing came after several hours of drinking, charges state. Blackdog had eventually gone into the bathroom and begun playing music loudly, the woman asked her to stop and a physical fight ensued, which Blackdog’s brother broke up. The woman who was stabbed is his girlfriend.
