A Billings woman was sentenced Monday to three years with the Department of Corrections for defrauding an elderly man out of more than $40,000.

Judge Michael Moses sentenced Stephanie Nicole See, 40, on 10 felonies including forgery, attempted theft and exploitation of an older person.

A plea agreement called for a joint recommendation of a cumulative 15 years to the Department of Corrections with all but three years suspended.

The agreement also called for the state to dismiss a persistent felony offender designation, for See to write a letter of apology to the victim, complete chemical dependency recommendations and pay $40,952 in restitution to the victim and to credit card companies, upon production of loss affidavits.
