Milestones

 

Bernard “Barney” Myers turned 100 years old on Sept. 13. Myers is an active member at the Billings Family YMCA and works out in the Life Center three times a week. The YMCA hosted a birthday party for him.

 

In the Schools

 

The following West High students were named semifinalists in the 2011 National Merit Scholarship Competition: Krista Bailey, Samuel Copeland, Michael Dunham, Ryan Marcotte and Jeni Sorli. Ben Gleason of West High was named a commended student.

 

In the Service

 

Army National Guard Pfc. Johnny W. Sanderson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C. Sanderson is the son of Wanda Sanderson of Billings. He graduated from home school in 2007.
