Billings fire and police departments stand by after arcing power lines cut electricity to the Big 5 Motel at 2601 Fourth Ave. N. shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009, according to police at the scene. Officers closed Fourth Avenue North between North 26th and 27th Streets while they waited for Northwest Energy workers to arrive. High winds at the time of the incident likely caused the power lines to arc.
Gusty winds in the Billings area caused some power outages, including one downtown at the Big 5 Motel.
