Connoisseur Media of Westport, Conn., has signed a contract to buy three Billings radio stations through a related party that wasn’t named.

Connoisseur is acquiring KBLG-AM, a news radio station; KRKX-FM, a classic rock station and KRZN-FM, a rock station called The Zone. No purchase price was named.

Cherry Creek Radio is selling the three radio stations to Connoisseur , which will start programming KRZN and KBLG on Nov. 20 and KRKX on Dec. 1.

“The Billings market needed a consolidation of ownership to reduce the amount of clusters in the market,” said Joe Schwartz, president and chief executive of Cherry Creek Radio.

On Nov. 1, Connoisseur Media switched formats on two other Billings radio stations it operates.  The company replaced the rock/country format on “The Bar” at 105.9 FM with My 92.5 adult hits. Simulcasting the adult hits on the two stations will continue to the end of the month.  Then Connoisseur will let its lease of 92.5 (KWMY) expire.

Connoisseur Media operates 21 radio stations from Billings to Erie, Pa.
