A 19-year-old Billings man led police on a three-minute pursuit that reached speeds of 70 mph in the West End on Sunday.
Michael Scott Chesmore was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor charges of fleeing a police officer and criminal possession of a dangerous drug, along with charges related to traffic offenses.
Billings Police Sgt. Jason Gartner said the chase began at about 9:30 p.m. in the 900 block of Central Avenue when an officer tried to pull Chesmore over for speeding. Chesmore then led police on a pursuit before abandoning his Pontiac Grand Prix to flee on foot.
Police later found him hiding underneath a car near the 1100 block of Howard Avenue.
Chesmore is being held at the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on a $3,300 bond.
