Two Billings men are facing felony drug charges in Idaho after a traffic stop on Friday by the Idaho State Police.

Officers seized about a half-pound of methamphetamine and arrested Joseph D. Hartford, 41, and Morris M. Demaree, 61, after a traffic stop on Interstate 86, about 16 miles east of Burley, the agency said in a news release Monday.

Lt. Ismael Gonzales said officers arrested the two men after their vehicle was stopped for having an expired license plate.

Hartford and Demaree were booked into the Mini-Cassia Justice Center in Burley on felony trafficking charges along with possession of marijuana, less than three ounces and possession of drug paraphernalia, the Idaho State Police said.

The two men were scheduled to appear in court Monday afternoon.
