Two men were arrested on Tuesday morning after Billings police responded to a call of a burglary in progress in the 2800 block of Colton Boulevard.
A call came in at 10:43 a.m. that two adult males had possibly broken into a residence, according to a news release from BPD Sgt. Shawn Finnegan.
Police located two male suspects in the 2100 block of Patricia Lane. They ran through the backyard of a residence.
The men were later found hiding in a backyard under a large pine tree. The two men were given verbal commands by officers. One of the men climbed a fence and took off running. The other man was arrested. The male that took off was later found hiding under a trailer in the neighborhood.
Officers determined the home had been burglarized.
The two male suspects that were apprehended were identified as Andrew Charles Hughes, 47, and Anthony A. Esparza, 23.
Both individuals had valid warrants for their arrest. In addition both men will probably be charged with felony burglary and obstructing a peace officer, a misdemeanor.
The case is still under investigation by Billings Police Department.
