School District 2 officials are investigating the discovery of videos posted to YouTube that depict Skyview High students fighting.

The videos go back as far as 18 months and are labeled as pretend fights.

“But, when I viewed them, they clearly were not fake fights,” said SD2 interim Superintendent Jack Copps.

Some of the students in the videos have been identified, and at least one has already been suspended for an unrelated incident, Copps said.

He described the fights as something like a “fight club” where the combat is voluntary.

“Even friendly fights can cause harm,” Copps said. “And it not only puts these kids out on YouTube for the world to see, it also drags our schools into it.”
