Billings TrailNet will celebrate its 1,000th membership during a Jan. 11 celebration beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Thirsty Street Brewing Co., 3008 First Ave. N.
The organization’s 1,000th member joined late last month, according to Lynn Harper, Billings TrailNet’s program coordinator.
That member will be thanked Thursday and will be awarded a complimentary Thirsty Street mug club membership. The brewery is donating $1 to Billings TrailNet for every pint purchased that evening.
The goal of Thursday’s celebration, Harper said, is to “make members feel appreciated and focus on all the people who have donated.”
Individuals can join online at www.billingstrailnet.org/join.
Formed a little more than five years ago as Billings BikeNet, Billings TrailNet, as it’s now known, promotes a complete communitywide trail system for Montana’s largest community.
Individuals pay $25 per year for membership. Efforts are underway to recruit corporate members as well.
Harper said Billings TrailNet’s ultimate goal is to reach 10,000 members — nearly 10 percent of the city’s population.
