A Powell man has been arrested in Wyoming after escaping from the custody of the Red Lodge Police Department.

Phillip A. Napoli, 50, was being booked by the Red Lodge Police Department at the Carbon County Sheriff’s office for felony impaired driving when he escaped Thursday, according to a press release from Lance Mathess, spokesman for the Park County, Wyo., sheriff's department.

Napoli was on the run until Saturday, when Park County Sheriff’s deputies received a tip that he was at a home on Vali Road in Powell, Wyo., with his mother and brother.

Deputies dispatched to the residence concluded that the mother and brother did not know he was on the run. They also said he locked himself into a building on the property and was armed with a shotgun, Mathess said.

While Napoli did not respond to orders from law enforcement officers to leave the building, a brief conversation with his mother and brother convinced him to surrender.

He is currently being held in Park County, Wyo., on charges of felony escape and felony impaired driving.
