People trying to access Yellowstone County websites had to get in touch with officials the old fashioned way Monday morning.

The web address, co.yellowstone.mt.gov, was been Monday morning, said Jamie DeBree the county's webmistress.

"We just had a webserver crash early this morning, and we're trying to rebuild it now," she said. "It should be up fairly soon. In the next couple of hours hopefully."

Sites unavailable include the property tax database, the Yellowstone County jail roster and many other county departments.

Why the server crashed was unclear.
