A man scheduled for trial next month on a felony DUI charge was arraigned Monday on a new drunken-driving charge.
Marvin Woodrow Stewart, 35, appeared Monday in District Court by video from the county jail. He pleaded not guilty to felony DUI and bond was set at $25,000.
Prosecutors said Stewart is schedueld for trial on Jan. 23 for felony charges of DUI and criminal endangerment for an incident in July 2011. In that case, Stewart is accused of driving drunk with his 13-year-old son and his mother in the vehicle.
In the newest case, Stewart was arrested Nov. 23 in Lockwood after a Montana Highway Patrol trooper was sent to check on a possible drunk driver. The trooper found the vehicle parked outside a bar with Stewart asleep inside and the engine running.
Stewart was arrested after he showed signs of intoxication and refused to provide a breath sample.
Prosecutors said Stewart has prior misdemeanor DUI convictions in 2000, 2004 and 2010.
