A Lockwood man admitted Thursday to a felony charge for calling 911 five days after a school massacre in Connecticut and threatening that there would be a school shooting locally.

Rodney Dale Wilm, 52, appeared before District Judge Susan Watters and pleaded guilty to felony intimidation for the Dec. 19 threat.

A plea agreement states prosecutors will recommend six years in state custody, with three years suspended. His defense attorney can ask for a lesser sentence. The charge carries a maximum prison sentence of 10 years.

Wilm remains in the county jail on a $15,000 bond. He is scheduled to be sentenced June 21.

Wilm made the threat at 2:10 a.m. when he called 911 and stated: "Be a school shooting tomorrow." He then hung up.

Authorities tracked the cellphone used to make the call to Wilm's residence at 1412 Omaha St. in Lockwood, where he was arrested at 9:30 a.m.

Wilm initially denied make the call, then said he had been drinking and was depressed.

The threat caused concern among the local community after a man shot and killed 20 students and six staff members at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14.
