A man is facing a felony charge of sexual abuse of children after he allegedly responded to an undercover agent's Craigslist ad about sex for sale with a fictitious 14-year-old boy.

Kenneth Dale Eagle, 26, appeared in Yellowstone County Justice Court Thursday.

According to charging documents, Eagle responded Monday to an ad posted on Craigslist by an agent with the Montana Division of Criminal Investigation.

The agent reported emailing and texting back and forth with Eagle, who agreed to pay for sex with a 14-year-old boy at a hotel the following day.

Eagle went to the hotel shortly after midnight Wednesday, where officers arrested him, court records say.

Eagle allegedly admitted to the agent that he responded to the Craigslist ad and that he went to the hotel intending to have sex. But, Eagle denied knowing the sex would be with a child or being willing to pay for sex, charging documents say.

Judge Pedro R. Hernandez set Eagle’s bond at $50,000 and scheduled him for arraignment in District Court on July 14.
