Billings police continued to investigate a shooting at a South Side home on Monday morning.

Police responded on Sunday at 11:06 p.m. to 3018 Eighth Ave. S., on a report of a man with a gun, according to a press release from Lt. Jeremy House of the Billings Police Detective Division.

When officers arrived they heard several shots inside the residence, House said.

Seven people were inside, five of whom were residents.

Officers were able to help several people inside the residence crawl out a back window.

They were taken to a safe location.

Two suspects came out the front and were taken into custody.

It was determined that two people inside the residence exchanged gunfire and one suspect received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The suspect was transported to Billings Clinic. The investigation is ongoing.

At least a dozen Billings police officers responded to the incident.
