State investigators continue to analyze evidence collected in the killing of a 27-year-old Absarokee man whose body was found outside his home at the end of last July.

Almost 11 months later, officials have released few details in the slaying of Forest G. Dana.

An autopsy completed days after he was found on July 28, 2013, revealed Dana died from blunt-force trauma.

The Stillwater County Sheriff’s Office referred recent questions to the Montana Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation, which is leading the investigation into Dana's death.

Department of Justice Communications Director John Barnes said earlier this week that investigators are continuing to do tests at the state crime lab on some of the large amounts of evidence gathered after the killing.

He declined to say what any of that evidence was and wouldn't say anything about what may have been used to kill Dana.

Barnes said no arrests have been made and declined to release any further details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation.
