A 33-year-old Billings man has been charged with his fifth drunken-driving offense.
Chester Brian Littlesun is being held in the county jail on $20,000 bond following his arrest Saturday. He is scheduled to be arraigned next week in District Court on charges of felony DUI and misdemeanor counts of driving without insurance and driving without a valid license.
A Billings police officer said he stopped a car driven by Littlesun at about 2:41 a.m. after watching the driver take a turn onto Grand Avenue at such high speed that the car tilted to one side.
The officer said the driver had loud music playing in the car, an open beer can on his lap and a open case of beer on the floor.
Littlesun smelled of alcohol, the officer said, and he was arrested after he performed poorly on a sobriety test. A blood sample was taken after Littlesun refused to provide a breath sample.
Prosecutors said Littlesun has four prior DUI convictions, 43 misdemeanor and traffic convictions and 13 previous bench warrants.
