Five Billings Police Department cruisers and three Montana Highway Patrol cruisers, including a K-9 unit, responded to the Exxon station known as Casey's Corner at 2007 Blue Creek Road late Wednesday after a man was reportedly stabbed.

Police Lt. Casey Hafner said a man who appeared to be in his 20s or 30s sustained up to two "serious" knife wounds to the back and was transported to St. Vincent Healthcare around 11 p.m.

There is no known suspect in the incident, but authorities are looking for a red or maroon pickup, Hafner said. Police also found a knifelike object — sharp and pointed with a handle — in the grass near the gas station.

Hafner said it is possible the man had been stabbed at a different location. He said it appeared as though the man had stumbled upon the gas station.
