The Billings Police Department on Monday identified Torry Rockroads, 20, as the man who was shot in the foot in a drive-by shooting near Billings Senior High over the weekend.

The case has been turned over to detectives, said Billings Police Lt. Kevin Iffland, but aside from Rockroads' name, there is no new information to release.

Rockroads told police that he was walking on the 400 block of Grand Avenue on Saturday when a white or silver car drove by, headed westbound. A male wearing a blue sweatshirt leaned out of the car and fired several shots at Rockroads, witnesses told police.

Three other males in the car were wearing black clothing.

Rockroads was taken to Billings Clinic, where he underwent surgery on his injured foot, police said.

Iffland said that police have not yet identified any suspects in the shooting and that detectives are sorting through and following up on tips from the public.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Billings Police Department at 657-8460 or anonymously through Crimestoppers at 245-6660.
