A tavern on Broadwater Avenue was robbed Monday night.

Billings Police Sgt. Riley Finnegan said the Office Lounge at 1112 Broadwater was robbed by an armed man shortly after 8:30 p.m.

In a press release, Finnegan said lounge employees and patrons reported that a man in his 20s or 30s came into the bar through a door on the north side of the building.

He was brandishing a silver handgun and demanded money. After an employee gave the robber an undisclosed amount of money, he left through the same door. He was last seen running east on the 1000 block of Custer Avenue.

The robber was described as being either Native American or Hispanic with a light mustache or goatee.  He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black hat, sunglasses and gloves.  He was described as 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-2 with a slender build and an estimated weight of 190 to 200 pounds.
