A school bus driver who hit a bicyclist and drove away on Friday morning got two tickets, said Police Lt. Mark Cady.

The bicyclist, who refused medical treatment, walked two blocks to work where he reported the accident, Cady said.

The accident happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. when an empty school bus was turning from North 31st Street onto Montana Avenue and hit the bicyclist, Cady said.

The driver, Cynthia Black, for First Student continued on to pick up students, Cady said. The driver was ticketed for making an unsafe turn and for leaving the scene of an injury accident, he said. The names of the driver and bicyclist were not available.

Black was cited for turning when unsafe to do so and fleeing the scene of an accident.
