A 23-year-old Billings man who was the victim of a stomping assault more than three weeks ago has died.

Yellowstone County Attorney Scott Twito confirmed the death Monday of Andrew Stoll. Twito said an autopsy is being scheduled for this week and "we will have more information after speaking with medical authorities."

Stoll was injured on Nov. 24 and had been treated at St. Vincent Healthcare for a serious head injury.

Prosecutors have charged 47-year-old Eldon Otter Little Elk with aggravated assault in connection with Stoll's injury. He pleaded not guilty to the charge during an arraignment last week in Yellowstone County District Court.

Little Elk remains in the county jail on a $100,000 bond.

In court records, prosecutors said Little Elk twice stomped on Stoll's head outside a residence on North 24th Street. Little Elk told officers that Stoll "should not have been messing with an Indian girl," court records state.
