A Billings judge on Friday gave a three-year prison sentence to a woman who walked away from a pre-release program last summer.

District Judge Ingrid Gustafson sentenced Lucinda Renee Leon on a count of felony escape. Leon previously admitted she left a Butte pre-release program on July 9. She was serving a sentence for a 2009 felony forgery conviction in Lewis and Clark County, court records say.

Leon was later arrested in Spokane, Wa., on suspicion of DUI and other charges.

Leon said that all of her criminal history is tied to her alcohol abuse, and that she is hoping to get into the veteran’s treatment court.
