School District 2 has hired a familiar face to act as interim director for its adult education program.

Rod Svee, who was SD2 superintendent from 2003 to 2006, has been hired to lead the program until the district hires a permanent replacement.

Josh Middleton, who had been executive director of adult education since 2012, resigned on Wednesday for health reasons.

Svee "has a wealth of experience in all levels of education," Superintendent Terry Bouck wrote to the school board on Friday. "I am excited that he has agreed to this interim position while we go through the hiring process."

Svee will start next week.
