School District 2 will begin redrawing boundaries for its 26 elementary and middle schools this fall and it wants to get the community involved.

The district is creating a committee this summer called the "Redistricting Team" to redraw school boundaries that haven't been significantly adjusted in 30 years.

"We invite staff, parents, and community members to apply for team membership during the redistricting process," Superintendent Terry Bouck wrote in statement. "Team members will need to attend all meetings, review material and information in advance, and be willing to work together and compromise."

The district wants the team to have between 20 and 25 members. Applications are available online at the school district's website, billingsschools.org, and at the district's head office at Lincoln Center, 415 N. 30th St.

Applications are due June 13.
