School District 2 officials are asking parents to accompany their children to their neighborhood bus stop and wait with them until the bus arrives.

"Parents, due to the weather please wait at the bus stop with your children until the bus picks them up," Superintendent Terry Bouck said in an email Monday night.

Weather in Billings is expected to get bitterly cold, with daytime temperatures dropping below zero for Tuesday and Wednesday and snow expected through most of the week, according to the National Weather Service.

The district has been active in communicating with parents and families this winter, as snowfall and cold temps have been more severe than usual.

"Communication with our Billings Public Schools’ families is paramount to our student and staff safety," Bouck said.
